May 1998
I,
Paul Stramer, born June 18, 1948, Bismarck North Dakota, to good
Catholic Parents, To whom I am ever grateful, was baptized a few days later
at St. Paul Catholic Church, Hazelton North Dakota. The records are extant.
I attended public school through eighth grade, and each year about six
weeks of "summer school" conducted in the basement of the same Catholic
Church by Sisters from a neighboring parish.
At the conclusion of elementary school, and after having been an Acolyte
for several years, I asked Fr. Raymond Guillozzet for a chance to attend
the seminary he had attended in the Society of the Precious Blood at Canton
Ohio to see if I had the Vocation to the priesthood. During that two years
(Freshman and Sophomore) I learned several things. 1. I did not have
a vocation. 2. The seminary was corrupt. 3. Those in charge in the
church were asking me to read books on the index of forbidden books. 4.
I needed to study my faith.
I returned to Hazleton North Dakota and completed the last years of
High School in the public system. In 1969 on November 28th
, I married Gladys Schock, Tuttle North Dakota, in the Cathedral of the
Holy Spirit, Bismarck North Dakota. I asked her to marry me and become
a catholic in the same breath. Her answer was " I want to become a Catholic,
but I don't know if I want to get married."
We left the Novus Ordo in 1971 after attending virtually every local
parish within several hundred miles trying to find a conservative one.
After several years in the "Traditional circuit", again looking for the
truth, we found Fr. Lucian about 1983, and have been with him since
then.
We currently live in the country in Northwest Montana.
