John McGrath
AUSTRALIA
July 1998
I was baptized at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on 26 Nov
1944. I was educated at three convent schools by the age of 9, and
after that at the one school by the Christian Brothers. I finished
school about 12 months before Vatican II opened.
Although I can’t pretend it was entirely on account of piety, I was
never taken in by the Conciliar Church. I detested the new language
and I was horrified by the changes as they unfolded or even as they were
being proposed. They always seemed to warn us, as part of the
psycho-warfare I suppose, which by the grace of God, I never fell for.
Began going to the old Mass in 1978 in response to an advertisement in
a local Sydney paper. Immediately surprised to find so many schools
of thought as to what represented true Catholicism, but had worked my way
through them by the early eighties to my present position.
I cannot see how the arguments Ken Mock has put forward over the last
few years can be gainsaid, so to be intellectually consistent at least, I
must rouse myself and act in accordance.
I would therefore like to have my name included on the list of
electors, and hope to see in due time, a list of candidates with their
resumes, if there is such a list.
