I (Robert J. Lyons) am a Catholic layman, born and raised in Flushing, New York.  I was baptized April 25, 1948, and have my Certificate of Baptism to this day.  I grew up going to a Catholic parochial school taught by the Sisters of Charity.  As such, I learned traditional Catholic teachings from the Baltimore Catechism. For this, I am very thankful to almighty God.  I am not a learned theologian as so many of our brethren are, but one with the basics.

In September 1965, I entered Marist Novitiate in Esopus, NY, with the thought of becoming a religious of the Marist Brothers, a teaching order.  I left the novitiate in January 1967.  Before, during, and for years after my association with the Marist Brothers, I, like so many others, had no idea of the new non-Catholic religion that was born because of Vatican II.  I thought that since the changes of Vatican II had come from the “pope” that all must be in order.  Therefore, my departure from Marist had no connection with the Vatican II changes, but only because I felt it was not my vocation.  In hindsight, this departure also was a great blessing from God.

From 1970 thru 1984, I waffled as a luke-warm Novus Ordo Catholic, going to the Novus Ordo mass only occasionally, usually Christmas and Easter, still ignorant of the situation.  In 1984, I met my future wife who because of her family situation was well-versed in the V2 errors and the false popes, and gently but firmly led me to the truth.  Thanks be to God.  She introduced me to Fr. Lucian Pulvermacher in late 1984, and he also instructed me in detail.  Still skeptical, I went back to 2 more Novus Ordo masses and compared those with the masses that I remembered from my childhood in the 1950s.  That was the clincher.  God opened my eyes, and I realized that the Novus Ordo mass was certainly not the sacrifice of Calvary, but a communal meal.  We have been blessed to receive the sacraments from Fr. Lucian Pulvermacher since 1985.  We were married by Fr. Lucian in August 1985.

My wife and I have 4 children, ages 11, 8, 6, 2, and struggle to keep the Catholic faith ever in their eyes.  It is quite a challenge with so infrequent availability of the sacraments.  But God will provide.  We homeschool our school-age children in our attempt to teach them the truth and keep the worldly ways of public school away from them.

I am employed by IBM as an Information Technology specialist.  In this capacity, among other things, I run a departmental website for the company.

I am presently webmaster for the http://www.truecatholic.org/ website.  The goal of this website is to present Catholic teaching, doctrine, prayers, instruction and information to the world. It is the vehicle used to present the current situation in the Church and expose the errors of Vatican II and the false claimants to the papacy.  I work very closely with Gordon Bateman in Australia, who fields numerous emails from the sincere, the curious and the evil-minded of the world.  I pray for his continued strength and dedication in his efforts to bring the Catholic truth to the world.

I envision using the WWW (world-wide-web) as one of the means to coordinate the election of a true pope.   More of such details will be presented in the True Catholic website.  I encourage all true Catholics who will participate in such proceedings to consider if a computer and internet access is a thing they can afford and use.  I also envision using the WWW as a vehicle for announcing the new pope to the world, and as one of his means to present encyclicals, instructions and directives to true Catholics worldwide.

I recently learned from a wise old man that Pope St. Pius V, was the pope who codified and fixed the Mass for all time, and that his feast day is May 5th.  I will continue to pray to this saint as patron and intecessor to almighty God for the election of the true Vicar of Christ.

“Oh Lord be merciful to me, a sinner.”
