Joan Lyons
USA
May 1998
I (Joan Lyons) was born and baptized in 1963 in IL, USA.
In the mid 70s my dad investigated the problems of the Church since V2.
In 1976 he found that the Novus Ordo service we had been attending for
years, was not really a mass. My mother, could not accept this and continued
going to the Novus Ordo. I absorbed the written information my father
had provided, and I too realized that what had taken place in the Church
was the ultimate deception – a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and so I stopped
attending the false Novus Ordo mass.
My dad searched for a traditional priest and found a man who called
himself Fr. Titus. We went to one of his Tridentine masses, but dad
later found that he was not even a priest.
When I made the break from the Novus Ordo mass, I knew it would be hard.
Our family has literally been divided. My mother and my brothers
and sisters and their families all still accept JP2 as pope, each with
a different twist – one attends the Pius X Society, another the Opus Dei,
and 2 others are vanilla Novus Ordos. There is no doubt in my mind
that our last true pope was Pius XII and that we are living in the interim
now awaiting the election of our next true pope.
My dad found Fr. Lucian in 1982 at that time I attended my 1st “real”
Mass and made my 1st “real” communion. I thank God for that.
My parents instructed me using the Baltimore Catechism. I was 19
before I memorized the Apostle’s Creed. I began saying the daily
rosary and Way of the Cross.
In 1984 I met Bobby Lyons, who is now my husband. I thought there
was hope when he told me of his Marist Brother training. I put our
relationship in the hands of Our Lady, telling her that if Bobby converted
it meant that he was the one I would marry. As it turned out that
is what happened. We were married by Fr. Lucian in 1985. I
was then re-confirmed in 1987, taking the name of AnneCatherine, one of
the visionaries who saw what is happening today in the Church. Fr.
Lucian brings us the sacraments 2-3 times per year and in between we faithfully
use our Goffine on Sundays, pray the Rosary and struggle with home-schooling
our children.
Sincerely in the hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Joan Lyons
